Job Summary: The bus driver transports passengers to and from specific destinations/routes in a safe and timely manner.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Drive responsibly and ensure physical safety of the boarding passengers
- Ensure that students remain in their seats and do not exit the bus other than their designated stop
- Maintain order and discipline during student transports
- Remain in contact with the Holcomb office during transports with any issues, etc.
- Report/document any accidents/ incidents while driving to and from school and Holcomb office
- Perform student checks as required
- Obey all traffic rules
- Adhere to all safety policies and procedures
Qualifications:
- Must be responsible and obey traffic rules
- Must have a valid driver’s license
- Must be able to pass a DOT physical and drug screening
- Must have a clean criminal background
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- 3 years of good standing drivers license
MVC, DOT & BOARD OF EDUCATION STATE REQUIRMENTS:
Potential Driver:
- Must have a valid New Jersey driver’s license to train in New Jersey
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- Must have a 3 year driving record in “good standing” (as per state of NJ)
- Must be able to pass a DOT Physical
- Must be able to pass a 5 panel DOT drug screening (you will be subject to random testing once you begin your behind the wheel training)
- Must have a clean Criminal Background; you will be subject to fingerprinting through the state of NJ (no prior convictions or felonies, DUI’s, or drug related arrests)
- Must be able to pass a Written & Driving (behind the wheel) CDL Test
We will pay for all costs related to attaining your CDL:
- Drivers Abstract
- DOT physical
- Written test
- Fingerprints
- Drug test
- Behind the Wheel training; fuel; etc.

Job Summary: The bus aide assists in the physical and behavioral care of the passengers during transport to and from school/location. In addition, this individual will help with the safe boarding, riding and exiting of students/passengers.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Assist the bus driver when requested or as needed
- Secure special needs students and or equipment with restraints, tie downs, wheelchairs, seat belts, car seats, etc.
- Monitor the students well being and behavior during the route
- Respond appropriately to students needs during the route and notify the driver of emergencies or issues
- Be familiar with the daily routes to assist a substitute or new driver
- Assist students requiring help loading or unloading the bus
- Adhere to all safety policies and procedures
Secondary Responsibilities:
- Help prepare documentation for accident, incident, or student related issues; report issues to driver and office personnel.
- Keep bus clean from debris and anything left from students; Clean up bus after use
- Collect and report any items/personal belongings left on bus
- Any additional duties as assigned by the Bus Driver/Office Manager
Qualifications:
- Must be able to read and understand and communicate in English
- Must remain polite and professional to students, teachers, school officials parents and office personnel
- Must be able to bend and lift up to 25 lbs.
